Traffic Planning

its what we do, exceptionally well

Road works involve a compromise between getting the work done quickly and safely and keeping the traffic flowing freely. It is therefore important to plan activities, including the implementation and removal of traffic management arrangements, with the aim of optimizing work efficiency and safety, and minimizing traffic delays, congestion and general inconvenience to road users.

One of our key strengths lies in our ability to produce extremely high quality and detailed traffic control plans that demonstrate practical solutions to this compromise.

We always prepare and design our Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) and Traffic Control Plans (TCPs) in proportion to the scale and complexity of the project or job being undertaken. Our plans therefore can vary from easily recognized generic layouts to extremely complex designs for staged or long-term works. No matter what the scale, we always aim to provide solutions that minimize complications and maximize your productivity and efficiency but that never compromise on safety or quality.

We make every effort to meet or exceed or clients expectations even if it is only a draft proposal. The availability of precise information and project requirements speeds up the process however, the planning timeframe will depend on the complexity and scope of the project

We guarantee that you, the client, will be assigned an experienced traffic control coordinator who will supervise and oversee your project from beginning to completion. We place huge emphasis on regular face to face site meetings as it allows us to not only gain a thorough understanding of the project from the outset but also of any changes or risks that arise during the course of the works.

Construction sites are dynamic by nature and therefore we develop our TMPs and TCPs, taking into account the sequence of works and type of project. However, where changes to a project or sequence of works impacts on any temporary traffic management arrangement, we ensure that these changes are incorporated into the site specific TCP and is communicated to all relevant parties.

The Traffic Planning Process

  • Initial client briefing
  • Initial concept development
  • Site location risk assessment
    • Traffic management/control plan design & programming
    • Determining the traffic control method
    • Determining crew requirements
    • Determining the programing of the work
    • Determining the need for any additional or special requirements
    • Feedback & approval process
  • On site monitoring and review
